It’s the paradox of life. We want to live a long life, but with longevity enters the inevitable. The undesired. The aches and pains that accompany an aging body. These aches and pains prevent us from truly living that long life we longed for.

And the things that used to feel easy, such as getting out of bed to begin our morning routine, have actually become our morning routine.

But can this be prevented?

Well, yes… and no.

Science hasn’t yet discovered an anti-aging pill… regardless of what late night infomercials may suggest. There is no way to reverse time. However, there are certain steps you can take to help restore the physical side-effects of aging and minimize pain and inflammation, which can certainly make you feel and act younger.

Ozone Therapy is one of the treatments I’ve found to be most effective in restoring joint health and function in those who suffer from arthritis and degenerative joint pain. Ozone is a colorless gas made up of three oxygen atoms. It is used as an alternative therapy to improve the body’s intake and use of oxygen and to activate the immune system.

Studies have shown that intra-articular injections of Ozone significantly decrease pain intensity in patients with mild to moderate arthritis and improve their function.

So what exactly is Ozone Therapy?

Most of us are familiar with the term “ozone” as it relates to the planet. There is a layer of ozone gas in the earth’s stratosphere. Its primary purpose is to protect the earth from the sun’s ultraviolet radiation, most of which it absorbs.

In medicine, Ozone Therapy is used to improve the body’s intake and use of oxygen, and activate the immune system.

Ozone was first used 150 years ago for the disinfection and treatment of disease. During the First World War, its application to wounds showed not only its ability to disinfect but also to aid blood flow and produce anti-inflammatory effects.

Although ozone is a gas, developments in technology have made it possible to be injected. This method is especially effective in treating joint pain due to arthritis. It has also helped in the healing and reduction of scar tissue resulting from surgery or injury.

We live in time where technological advancements make it possible for us to not only live longer lives, but live stronger lives. Never in the history of mankind have we had a greater level of understanding or more advanced abilities than we do right now, thus endowing us with the capacity to tap into natural sources for the healing and benefit of our bodies. Shouldn’t we be taking advantage of this gift?

If you suffer from scars as a result of injury or surgery, or joint pain and inflammation,  Ozone Therapy could be the “anti-aging” agent you’ve been waiting for. I’d be happy to answer any questions you may have and discuss your options to see whether Ozone Therapy is your ticket to a long, healthy, pain-free life.
